Child abuse can be sorted into four sub catagories which inclued physical abuse, emotional abuse, sextual abuse and neglect. All four are equally as traumatizing to the victim and will cause permanent damage.

Physica abuse is when a parent or guardian commits an act that results in physical injury to a child such as red marks, cuts, bruises, muscle sprains, or broken bones.
Symptoms of domesticated violence or physical abuse include Frequent injuries, school absences, fear, depression, low self-esteem, frequent crying.

What is Emotional Abuse and How can you Tell When a Child is being Emotionaly Abused?
Emotional abuse or psychological abuse is behaviors, speech, and actions of parents or guardians that have a negative mental impact on the child.
Symptoms of psycological abuse or emotional abuse includes low self-esteem, depression, aggression, withdrawal, anxiety, and low self-confidence.

What is Sextual Abuse and How can you Tell When a Child is being Sextualy Abused?
Sexual abuse is any inappropriate touching, showing pornography, sex and exposing body parts to the child for the sexual stimulation of the adult.
Symptoms of sexual abuse includes headaches, swelling/itching/pain in the genital area, difficulty walking/sitting, sore throat

What is Neglect and How can you Tell When a Child is being Neglected?
Neglect is a form of child abuse caused by the denial of basic requirements like correct nutrition, care, and love.
Symptoms include be very underweight or overweight, be sick or tired most of the time, be dirty or have poor personal hygiene, not have the right clothes for the weather.
